Launched on the Italian roads in January 1992, this Porsche 968, in a rare condition for a car of its age, has 89,850km on the clock. Front-engined Porsche intended to replace the 911s of the time with a 240hp 3.0l 4-cylinder engine, it was purchased by its current owner in 2018.Having the will to give back its youth of yesteryear to this 968, its owner has carried out many interventions, including a complete respray of the body and rims, replacements of joints, installation of new shocks and tires, new brake discs and pads, replacement of the air conditioning system and much more.
This car also has a new flywheel and a brand new clutch, bringing the replacement and repair costs to 40 000€ (including the complete paint job), with invoices to prove it.
The interior is in excellent condition and features rare leather and fabric upholstery with the Porsche name on it. It also has a new Porsche radio, with contemporary features but with a vintage look. In summary, this Porsche 968 is in rare working condition and is just waiting to hit the road again.
At the dawn of the 1970s, Porsche wanted to break away from its image as a single-model brand. And despite the resounding success of the 911, some of the managers at Zuffenhausen tried to push the emblematic coupe towards the exit. Indeed, the layout of its backpack flat-six was considered outdated and without a future. A statement that seems comical in retrospect, but which was the subject of fierce debate at the time.

Following the release of the 944 S2 in 1989, Porsche is working on a 3rd model with a front engine. The 968 will make its appearance in 1991. Equipped with a 4 cylinder 3.0l engine of 240 hp, the 968 has a 6 speed gearbox, rare for the time, with the option of an automatic Tiptronic gearbox.
