Our BMW 635 CSi E24 was delivered new in Switzerland in 1980. In 2012, it was imported to France, where it had three owners, the last of whom acquired it in 2021.
This 6 Series is in good overall condition. The metallic-grey bodywork presents itself very well and blends perfectly with the Caramel leather interior. The interior fittings, various chrome elements and aluminum wheels are in very good condition.
Mechanically, the 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine is in perfect working order, and was restored in 2021. Work carried out in May 2022 included replacement of the vehicle's brakes, suspension and rear bearings. Our BMW 635 CSi has been regularly serviced at BMW centers and by BMW specialists. An overhaul will be carried out for the sale.
Unveiled at the 1976 Geneva Motor Show, the BMW 6 Series E24 is the successor to the E9 range. This new generation was intended to be the ultimate luxury four-seater coupé. Initially developed in 630 CSi and 633 CSi versions, it wasn't until 1979 that the German manufacturer launched the 635 CSi. A version combining comfort and power that competed directly with the Mercedes SLC and Jaguar XJ-S of the time.
Based on the 5 Series E12 platform, the BMW 635 CSi differs from other models by the addition of a front and rear spoiler, firmer shock absorbers and a 5-speed gearbox. Under the hood of this 635 CSi, BMW installs a 220 hp 3.5-liter, rear-wheel-drive engine. After just a few years, the 6 Series E24 became the most mass-produced BMW coupé in history, with sales twice as high as the previous model, the benchmark in its class.
