Originally from the United States, like the vast majority of De Tomaso Pantera, this 1973 example was imported to France in 2020. With low mileage, particularly well cared for and maintained during its history, this Italian car stands out for its excellent general condition. A condition certified by a set of invoices as well as an expertise report (10/2020) of which here are the main elements:
Mechanical matching numbers engine-gearbox
In a haunting symphony, its 5.8-liter Ford Cleveland 351 ci V8 starts and runs very well. It maintains compliant oil pressure and temperature and delivers its full power unhindered through the 5-speed ZF transmission, which works like a charm. A visual inspection of the engine bay and front boot shows no signs of rust.
Frame
Its healthy undercarriage with no visible corrosion is a testament to the good storage conditions during its history. Its suspensions, running gear and brakes work perfectly well. No abnormal noise or suspicious shaking is to be reported.
Bodywork
The car has been completely repainted in its original livery about 10 years ago. The color is now very deep. The whole bodywork appears in a very good condition and has no impact. Its windows are correctly aligned and its joints have kept all their flexibility and tightness. Its tires show only 10% wear.
Interior
The interior has been beautifully restored and kept in its strict original configuration. The upholstery has a nice patina and no major damage. The gauges, controls and electrical equipment work perfectly well.
Concerned about the health of his car, the current owner has performed numerous cosmetic and mechanical reliability operations:
- New seat covers, carpets, rugs and boot tray
- Repainted Campagnolo rims
- New battery
- New exhaust system
- Brake system completely revised
- Engine and gearbox overhauled
