Our Honda S2000 was delivered new to Switzerland in 2001. Its current owner, a Frenchman, is buying it in 2019 from CARUGATI Automobiles, a company renowned for the quality of the cars it offers for sale.
Our Honda S2000 presents itself in exceptional condition, in keeping with its very low mileage of 35,000 kilometers. With its Ascari Red paintwork, matching hard-top, black leather interior and electrically operated black soft top, our Honda S2000 is simply flawless.
Mechanically, we're dealing with an almost new car. The 240 hp naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine, with its 6-speed manual gearbox, sings like new. We have a record of our S2000's regular servicing at Bahman Cars, Honda and Carugati, as recorded in the maintenance booklet. A complete overhaul will be carried out for the sale.
The Honda S2000 was presented as a concept car (then named SSM) at the 1995 Tokyo Motor Show. The production version went on sale on April 15, 1999, to celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary.
This new model has its roots in Honda history, following the nomenclature of the brand's roadsters such as the S500, S600 and S800. The "S" of course stands for "Sport" and "2000" for engine displacement.
A sporty roadster par excellence, the Honda S2000 boasts sleek, sober lines. The styling, inside and out, is pure and unadorned. Honda innovates by integrating a digital rev counter into the dashboard. The unconventional graphics are based on racing car principles, giving the rev counter a prominent place. The rev counter's raison d'être is more than just a stylistic effect; it's a useful tool for monitoring the lyrical flights of the Honda S2000's incredible engine. This 2.0-liter, F20C-type, naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine boasts an output of 120 hp/l and is capable of 9,000 rpm.
Voted best engine in the world from 2000 to 2003, the F20C delivers 240 hp at 8,300 rpm, giving the S2000 a playful and very pleasant character, aided by the formidably easy-to-handle 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Honda S2000's 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution guarantees balance and excellent handling.
As with all Honda models, the S2000 offers a very high level of engineering, combined with a reputation for reliability that is rarely matched.
