Singularity of the car

  • Excellent condition
  • Low mileage this year
  • History available and maintenance booklet up to date

Our Maserati GranTurismo S was delivered new in Sweden and put on the road on April 21, 2010. It has 4 owners, and is being imported into France for its current owner, who will acquire it in 2022.

This model is in very good overall condition and has benefited from serious maintenance. In Anthracite Grey, combined with 20" Neptune-Grigio Mercury wheels, black leather and alcantara interior, carbon elements and grey alcantara headlining, this Maserati GranTurismo S is flawless. It's worth noting that the bodywork has been treated to full ceramic.

Mechanically, the performance of this model is beyond reproach. The 440 hp 4.7L V8, borrowed from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, combined with the 6-speed automatic gearbox, delivers a sublime metallic sound. Maintenance is carried out in Maserati Centers and by specialists, and the various jobs can be consulted via the up-to-date service booklet. Last serviced in April 2024 at 53,057 kilometers.

Historical summary of the model

In the 60s and 70s, Maserati, under the impetus of Giulio Alferi, set its sights on grand touring models and developed its range with this objective in mind. Often compared to Ferrari for the sporty aspect of its models, Maserati nevertheless distinguished itself by offering Grand Touring models focusing on luxury and comfort, with a touch less sportiness. In 2007, after abandoning this philosophy for a few years, Maserati returned to its first strategic choices and once again turned to the creation of GT models. The GranSport or 3200 GT will remain sportier than the new 2007 model, the aptly named GranTurismo.

But make no mistake, the GranTurismo doesn't abandon the fabulous V8 engine and its vocals. On the contrary, its overall behavior is slightly modified. Aesthetically, the GranTurismo is a true Pininfarina masterpiece. The GTs of the 60s were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Based on a longer platform, the Italian firm succeeded in creating a sporty line while allowing 2+2 seats in the cabin. The fenders are curved, the stern features new lights and the rear has twin tailpipes. The front grille is based on the concave grille of the Trident. The elongated hood, combined with downward-stretching lights, gives the GranTurismo the air of a true supersport. The interior features Poltrona Frau leather upholstery, while standard equipment is more than generous. The 4.2L V8 engine offers 405 hp, but this base version will soon be joined by the Maserati GranTurismo S, to put everyone in agreement.

In 2008, Maserati responded to the criticism of its lack of sporting temperament, thanks in particular to the support of Ferrari, and unveiled the S version of its GT. The design is not overlooked, and benefits from a few changes. The wheels are 1" larger in diameter, the rocker panels are reshaped with side skirts, and the headlamps are given a black background, as is the black-painted grille. The trunk lid gains in support with an integrated spoiler, while two large exhaust tailpipes ostentatiously underline the version. The interior is more sporty, with aluminum pedals, leather and alcantara upholstery and a 3-spoke steering wheel. The gearshift is also replaced by steering-wheel-mounted paddles. The biggest change is under the hood, with a complete engine overhaul. The 4.2L V8 gives way to an all-new 4.7L V8, which turns out to be the same V8 supplied to Alfa Romeo by Ferrari for the 8C Competizione. Slightly toned down, the new V8 delivers 440 hp at 7,000 rpm. Once the sport mode is activated, the engine and exhausts unleash a deep, metallic sound, typically Italian. Overall behavior and performance are up, but the GranTurismo S retains its GT feel in use, a good compromise between two worlds achieved by Maserati.
