Produced in just 83 examples during 1980, of which 37 were LHDs and 5 for France, the Corniche Coupé stood out from cabriolets for its increased rigidity, offering a more pleasant driving experience, thanks in particular to chassis developments specific to the 5000 series.
It features the modified suspension and hydraulic system of the Silver Spirit, a significant development even before the launch of this model. In 1975, the Corniche already adopted the air-conditioning system planned for the Silver Shadow T2, which would not be launched until two years later.
The Corniche takes its name from an experimental prototype of 1939, and is a derivative of the two-door versions of the Silver Shadow, produced by Mulliner Park Ward. Its engine comprises a 6.75-liter V8, coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission, and a hydraulic suspension system for exceptional driving comfort.
Highly sought-after on the market, this 5000-series Corniche Coupé is sometimes considered the "Holy Grail" of collectors, not least because of its rarity and the technical improvements that set it apart.
