Our Land Rover Range Rover "Classic" was delivered new in France in 1988. It has subsequently had 5 owners, the last since 2008.
This model is in very good condition, thanks in particular to the restoration of many of its components. In raptor black, the body has been completely repainted. The black interior features new leather upholstery and is in overall good condition.
Our Land Rover Range Rover works perfectly. The 163-hp, 3.9-liter Rover V8 engine and 4-speed ZF automatic transmission are as efficient as ever. Numerous specialist service invoices are in our possession. The restoration also included an overhauled air system, a new alternator, 4 new shock absorbers, a stainless steel exhaust, a new engine radiator and much more.
It has been certified as being in good condition.
In 1970, the Rover brand, which a few years later took the name Land Rover, developed a new range. The Range Rover is an all-terrain vehicle that meets the growing demand for SUVs on the market. Offered in a two-door version for the first 11 years, it evolved in 1981 and began its history in the United States at the 1987 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Range Rover has the difficult task of bridging the gap between purely functional vehicles, and a vehicle with sufficient stylistic appeal to conquer the market. Stylist David Bache manages to strike a balance, giving it a distinguished style, while retaining the model's simple, functional character.
The Land Rover Range Rover is relatively compact, measuring 4.47 m long, 1.78 m wide and 1.80 m high. The exterior styling remains very simple, with a grille and a line free of superfluous elements. As a result, its styling keeps up with the times. Mechanically, the first models up to 1979 were equipped with the 135-hp, 3.5-liter Rover V8.
In 1982, changes were made to the gearbox, with the introduction of an optional automatic gearbox (three-speed Chrysler, then 4-speed ZF in 1985). The engine was made more reliable in 1988 with a new injection system, and produced 163 hp.
