Historical summary of the model

The Lotus Exige, produced from 2000 to 2021, is a sports car developed by the British brand Lotus Cars. Initially derived from the Lotus Elise roadster, the Exige evolved, especially with the Series 3, to become a V6-engined model, more powerful than the Elise. The first Exige (Series 1) was launched in 2000, equipped with a 1.8-liter Rover K-Series engine delivering 177 hp. It reached 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 219 km/h. Its bodywork, derived from the Elise, added aerodynamic features such as a rear spoiler and a widened hull.

The Series 2, introduced in 2004, brought a Toyota 1.8L engine, and in 2005 a supercharged version, the 240R, was launched, achieving 243 hp. In 2012, the 3 Series saw the light of day, with a 3.5-liter V6 engine and 345 hp, taken from the Evora S. The coupe version, Exige Sport 350, unveiled in 2015, becomes lighter thanks to a 51 kg reduction, reaching 1,125 kg. Lotus refined its chassis and introduced a revised manual gearbox for faster gear changes. In 2016, the roadster variant was presented, sharing the coupe's performance characteristics with carbon fiber elements and a removable roof.
