The Aston Martin Vanquish, introduced in 2001, is a grand tourer successor to the Aston Martin Virage. Designed by Ian Callum, the V12 Vanquish was unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show and produced until 2007. The "Project Vantage" concept served as the basis for the Vanquish, with a carbon fiber and alloy structure, and the brand's most powerful V12 engine. The V12 Vanquish was notably driven by James Bond in "Die Another Day" in 2002. In 2004, the V12 Vanquish S, with a more powerful engine and sportier driving characteristics, was introduced. After 2007, it was indirectly replaced by the DBS.
The second-generation Vanquish, known as the AM310 concept, was unveiled in 2012 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Based on the VH platform similar to that of the DB9 and designed by Marek Reichman, it featured design elements inspired by the One-77 and a 5.9-liter V12 engine producing 558 horsepower. The concept went into production under the name Vanquish. Produced in Gaydon, this Vanquish was intended to replace the DBS V12. In 2017, an improved "Vanquish S" version with a more powerful engine and better aerodynamics was launched. This generation was replaced by the DBS Superleggera in 2018.
