Our BMW M3 Competition xDrive Touring was delivered new in France and put on the road on December 20, 2022. To date, it has only had one owner.
This example is in very good overall condition, in keeping with its low mileage of 17,500 kilometers. In Frozen Pure Grey Metallic, combined with black forged wheels, interior and exterior carbon accents and black leather seats, this M3 Touring is in excellent condition. It features a PPF on the front end.
Mechanically, the M3 Touring is flawless. The 510 hp in-line 6-cylinder engine, combined with the 8-speed automatic gearbox, transmits its power without a hitch. The manufacturer's warranty, available until 2025, ensures its excellent mechanical condition.
Here are the options available for this BMW M3 Competition Touring :
In the 1970s, BMW, following the craze for motor sports, was encouraged to develop its own dedicated division. As the success of the Alpina tuner on its range was also evolving, the brand took the lead in creating its new entity. Former driver Jochen Neerspach took over the reins of the BMW Motorsport GmBh subsidiary on 24 May 1972. The first works of the sports division are special engines, as well as preparation for participation in Formula 2.
The first model developed entirely by BMW Motorsport appeared in 1978, under the name BMW M1. Initially developed for racing, 456 examples were produced for road use, inaugurating BMW M's know-how. The M1's 6-cylinder engine was reused in 1984 on production models, including a certain M5 e26. It was followed 2 years later by the famous M3 e30, which definitively established BMW M as one of the most fashionable manufacturers. The M models followed one another year after year, until the release of a new variant offered on the M3 version, with a station wagon body called Touring.
Presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June 2022, the M3 Competition Touring inaugurates a new genre at BMW. Apart from the bodywork, which picks up a few aesthetic details such as a contourless grille, black side skirts and a black roof, accompanied by the M anniversary logo, the changes are minimal. The Touring is only 7mm longer than the sedan, with a strictly identical wheelbase. There is, however, an increase in rear overhang, with some 20 liters more space in the trunk. No concessions are made on power, as the M3 Touring is equipped with the M4 GT3's 3.0L twin-turbo in-line 6-cylinder engine. Power reaches 510 hp and 650 Nm of torque, making it the world's fastest station wagon after a time of 7'35''060 on the Nürburgring's northern loop. A more than successful foray into the world of station wagons.
