The BMW Z4 M40i is unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. This model is designed to succeed the Z4 E89, and is part of the third generation of the Z series. The Z4 M40i is powered by a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, producing 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The car is based on a common platform with the Toyota Supra, the result of collaboration between the two brands on cars with different philosophies.
The Z4 M40i is equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a chassis with adaptive suspension. Production begins in Graz, Austria, at Magna Steyr's plants from March 2019. It is distinguished by its canvas roof, returning to a lighter solution compared to the hardtop of the previous generation. The Z4 M40i is sold until 2023, when it receives its final technical and aesthetic updates before the next generation.
