Mechanically, its performance is beyond reproach. The 416 hp 4.2L V8 engine, combined with the 6-speed automatic gearbox, delivers its power as it did in the original. It has been rigorously maintained by Jaguar specialists since new. A large number of invoices and the stamped service book are available. It was last serviced on June 9, 2022, at 135,366 km. Consumables are in very good condition.

After more than 20 years in existence, the Jaguar XJS was replaced in the catalog by the new figurehead, the Jaguar XK. Presented at the 1996 Geneva Motor Show, the XK is radically different from the XJS. Its styling and mechanical components were largely new, not least its engine. Jaguar installs its first V8 engine, developing 294 hp. It features a 5-speed ZF automatic gearbox and two interior finishes, Classic and Sport. The following year, Jaguar unveils the sporty version of the XK, the XKR. Available as a Coupé and Cabriolet, it featured special wheels, air intakes on the hood, a rear spoiler and more comprehensive equipment. The V8 engine is upgraded, offering no less than 375 hp.
In 2002, the XK benefits from further changes: xenon headlamps and a new front logo, as well as an increase in V8 displacement from 4.0L to 4.2L, giving the XK 304 hp and the XKR 406 hp. The ZF automatic gearbox is upgraded to 6 speeds, and styling options are increased. The range of exterior and interior colors expands, and the Aluminum and Super Sport option packs are now available. A few further modifications were made up to 2005, the last year of production for the first-generation XK.
The new Jaguar XK was presented at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. It features an aluminum chassis and body, as well as new running gear. Its body is 61 mm wider and 162 mm longer, while its weight drops by 91 kg. The XKR now boasts 4 tailpipes and a 416-hp 4.2L V8. Specific 20-inch wheels and Brembo brakes are also added.
