Our Porsche 911 Type 996 Carrera 4S, with 123,000 KM on the odometer, was put on the road in Italy on October 15, 2003 before being imported into France in February 2012. The vehicle has had 5 owners in France, with a rigorous and transparent follow-up.
The car is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic (L39C) and Savanne leather (SD). The overall condition of the body and interior is very good, and the on-board instrumentation works perfectly.
Under the hood, this 996 Carrera 4S is equipped with a 320 hp 3.6L Flat-6 engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mechanically, this model is in excellent condition, especially as the IMS was replaced as a preventive measure 2 years ago, at 112,000 KM. This Porsche has been serviced at Porsche or by specialists. The last major overhaul, including a change of spark plugs, took place in September 2024. All maintenance documents and invoices are available. Consumables are in good condition.
Here are the options and equipment available on this model:
Launched in 1997, the Porsche 911 Type 996 is the 5thgeneration 911. Unlike its 993 predecessor, the 996 takes a major technological and aesthetic turn, and switches to water-cooling for ecological reasons. The German brand decided to reduce production costs by integrating large-scale production, and reusing parts from other models, such as those from the Boxster.
The body is more imposing, with 18.5 cm in length, 3cm in width and an 8cm longer wheelbase. The design is elegant and unadorned. Mechanically, water-cooling, although much criticized at the time of its introduction, increases power and performance. The downsizing of the engine to 3.4L does not prevent power from increasing to 300hp for the base model. The engine was later redesigned and returned to the 3.6-liter Flat 6, enabling the 996 Carrera 4S in particular to increase output to 320 hp.
From an aesthetic point of view, the use of the Boxster's headlights for the 911 did not go down well. This was quickly rectified with the 911 Turbo and its inimitable look. The 996 Carrera 4S, released some time later, benefited from the changes made and featured the Turbo bodywork, with headlamps, wide fenders and the return of the famous red stripe at the rear. The 996 Carrera 4S is one of the most popular 996 models, thanks to its Turbo look and excellent performance.
