Singularity of the car

  • Ferrari's ultimate naturally-aspirated V8
  • First hand
  • Low mileage
  • Exclusive Ferrari interview

Our Ferrari 458 Speciale was delivered new in Belgium and put on the road in November 2013. It has only had one owner to date.

This example is in exceptional condition, in keeping with its very low mileage of 20,600 kilometers. In a Rosso Corsa hue, combined with Nart painted stripes, black wheels and red brake calipers, alcantara interior, carbon racing seats and carbon steering wheel, this 458 Speciale is aesthetically close to perfection.

Mechanically, this Ferrari 458 Speciale is as good as new. The 4.5L naturally-aspirated V8 developing 605 hp, combined with the 7-speed automatic gearbox, delivers sublime vocals up to 9,000 rpm. This model is serviced exclusively at the Centre Ferrari Francorchamps and Grand-Est. A full service history is available. The last service was carried out in November 2023.

Here are the options and equipment available for this Ferrari 458 Speciale:

  • Rosso Corsa and NART painted stripes
  • Black rims
  • Carbon wheel center
  • Rosso Corsa calipers
  • Carbon wing patch
  • Black side blades
  • Carbon engine compartment
  • Lift system
  • Interior in Alcantara Nero and Tech3 Rosso fabric
  • Carbon interior trim
  • Red topstitching
  • Carbon racing seats with Cavallino embroidered in red
  • 4-point harness
  • Carbon steering wheel with LED
  • Red tower account background

Historical summary of the model

The history of 8-cylinder Ferrari models, since 1993 and the organization of the Ferrari Challenge by the Prancing Horse marque, has taken on a whole new dimension. Organized as a single-brand championship, its appearance led to the construction of a homologated version for each model, representing its final evolution. The first model to take part in the Ferrari Challenge was the Ferrari 348, TB or TS, depending on the owner. In order to participate, models were modified with an official kit in partnership with OMP. The kit consisted of standard racing equipment (roll bar, harness, bucket seats, towing hook) and accessories such as an aluminum crankset, a special exhaust and a "348 Challenge" logo to be affixed to the hood. It was replaced in 1995 by the F355 Challenge. Inspired by the F355 Berlinetta, this Challenge version was also equipped with an official Ferrari competition kit.

Ferrari Challenge's first foray into road-legal models came with the development of the F355 Spider "Serie Fiorano". This version, limited to 100 units (and produced in 104), was developed to be as close as possible to the Challenge version, without the need for the €30,000 kit. Rigid springs, anti-roll bar, drilled brake discs, competition brake pads and more will be supplied as standard. This Ferrari choice will be perpetuated for future models, such as the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and Ferrari 430 Scuderia. These models become an integral part of the Ferrari catalog, no longer simply inspired by the Ferrari Challenge. They are now the final evolution of their range, the best of Ferrari competition homologated for the road.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is one of the most exceptional models in the Ferrari 8-cylinder range. Presented in 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it is powered by the most powerful naturally-aspirated eight-cylinder ever built by Ferrari. With a displacement of no less than 4.5L and 605 hp, the Speciale's naturally-aspirated V8 is also the last to be produced before the switch to the turbo engine used on the 488 Pista. Performance is on target, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 3 seconds, thanks in particular to the active aero system, the 35 extra horsepower compared with the 458 Italia and the 90-kilogram weight reduction. The naturally-aspirated V8 bursts into life at 9,000 rpm with a deafening blast of sound, and with no less than 388 kg of aero active support, reaches speeds of over 320 km/h. The 458 Speciale is obviously sought-after for its performance and sharp design, but in a few years' time it will no doubt be even more sought-after for its unique atmospheric V8.
