Singularity of the car

- French origin

- Complete Ferrari maintenance follow-up

- 3rd hand

- Very good condition

Unveiled at the 1984 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari Testarossa made a lasting impression with its unusual features. With its iconic silhouette and rear-mounted V12 engine, aerodynamic research played a major role in the Testarossa's design. One of the Italian marque's best-selling models, the Testarossa was not, however, the most popular of all. Its weight and size played a major role in these opinions, which were soon erased by the years and a meteoric rise in its popularity.

This Ferrari Testarossa makes its first appearance in France. Launched on March 2, 1989, it has passed through the hands of 3 owners to date. After a purchase by its first owner in 1989, it was acquired by the second in 2001, then by its current owner in 2014. In very good overall condition, this Ferrari Testarossa has benefited from special care by its previous owners. Its bodywork, adorned in Rosso Corsa Ferrari red, is in very good condition. There are no dents, and the paintwork is bright and deep. The underside of the front bumper is slightly rubbed on one side. The bodywork has been polished. Inside, the seats, steering wheel, dashboard and instrumentation are all in good condition. The leather seats show few signs of use, and the other components show no apparent defects. The on-board instrumentation functions normally.

Mechanically, this Ferrari Testarossa features a mid-rear V12 engine in excellent working order. Start-ups are smooth and there's no audible noise. The doors are well aligned and the underpinnings are sound. The 5-speed manual gearbox operates smoothly, delivering quick, precise shifts. With 55,600 kilometers on the clock, this model is in excellent condition.

Maintained at Ferrari Pozzi in Paris, this Ferrari Testarossa has a full service history and numerous invoices. It was last serviced on October 6, 2020 for 55,129 km. The car has new tires and brakes in very good condition. A stainless-steel exhaust system has been added, for an even more powerful sound.

The distribution system is scheduled for replacement in 2025. Apart from this, there are no post-purchase costs. This Ferrari Testarossa comes with optional luggage.

Historical summary of the model

The Ferrari Testarossa, first unveiled in 1984 at the Paris Motor Show, continues the tradition of supercars produced by the famous Italian marque. Designed as the successor to the Ferrari 512 BB, it was developed in response to stringent emissions and safety requirements, while meeting the expectations of the growing market for high-performance sports cars.

One of the Testarossa's distinguishing features is its series of side slots, the result of a collaboration between Ferrari and Pininfarina, the famous Italian designer. As well as being aesthetically appealing, these slots had an essential function: to channel fresh air to the side-mounted radiators, eliminating the need for front-mounted radiators and allowing better weight distribution. The exterior design also reflects careful aerodynamics, offering a balance between performance and style.

The name "Testarossa", which means "red head" in Italian, refers to the engine's red-painted rocker covers. The engine, a 4.9-liter flat-12, produced 390 hp and was mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This block enabled the Testarossa to reach a top speed of 290 km/h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 5 seconds.

Production of the Testarossa began in 1984 and continued until 1991. Over the years, it underwent minor improvements and adjustments, but its iconic silhouette remained relatively unchanged. In 1991, Ferrari introduced the 512 TR, an evolution of the Testarossa, featuring mechanical improvements, an increase in power, and minor aesthetic adjustments. The 512 TR was itself replaced in 1994 by the F512 M, the latest iteration of the Testarossa series. It was distinguished by aesthetic modifications, including exposed headlamps instead of the original retractable ones.

The Testarossa has been widely recognized for its bold design and impressive performance. It also played a role in popular culture, appearing in several films, TV series and video games. Despite occasional criticism of its weight and size compared with other Ferrari models, the Testarossa was one of the brand's best-selling cars during its production.

Over the years, the Ferrari Testarossa, with its bold lines and iconic status, has certainly left its mark on automotive history. It symbolizes an era of transition for Ferrari, blending tradition and innovation to adapt to new market realities while remaining true to the brand's heritage.
