The engine develops 490 hp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 465 Nm at 5,250 rpm. The F430 Spider accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h.
The car is equipped with a 6-speed F1 automated gearbox, with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Ferrari has also introduced the "E-Diff" system, an electronic differential that improves traction and handling. The vehicle is also equipped with the F1-Trac traction control system, a first for a Ferrari Spider model. In terms of design, the F430 Spider incorporates several stylistic elements from previous models, while introducing a number of innovations. The vehicle was designed by Pininfarina, with particular attention paid to aerodynamics.
