Singularity of the car

  • Low mileage
  • A single owner
  • Latest version with naturally-aspirated engine
  • Good condition

Dating back to 1965, the Targa name has been making a comeback on 911 models for 4 generations now. The 991 generation is no exception to this new trend, and is complemented by a cutting-edge Targa 4S version. Initially designed for safety, the Targa rollover bar, which protected passengers in the event of the car overturning, has become a major styling asset on new generations, as well as offering additional safety.

This Porsche 911 Type 991 Targa 4S was launched in January 2014 in France. It was purchased at the Centre Porsche Antibes on January 17, 2014. It remains in the hands of its first owner to this day. This example is configured in a gray exterior color combined with gray 20-inch wheels and red brake calipers. The bodywork is in generally good condition. There are no scratches on the rims. Inside, this Porsche 991 Targa 4S features a two-tone quartz-gray and pebble-gray interior. The seats show minor signs of wear. All components are in good condition. The on-board instrumentation and multimedia systems function normally.

Mechanically, this model is equipped with a 3.8 L Flat 6 offering 400 hp, and a 7-speed PDK automatic gearbox. All mechanical components are in excellent working order. This model has only 9,800 kilometers on the clock. Start-ups are smooth, and there are no suspicious noises during operation.

Historical summary of the model

The Porsche 911 Type 991 Targa 4S represents a milestone in the evolution of the 911 range, known for its longevity and performance in the world of sports cars. Introduced in 2011 and produced until 2019, the Type 991 is the third generation of the 911 to bear the Targa name, a designation dating back to 1965. This generation is distinguished by its return to the original Targa roof concept, with a distinctive roof bar and removable glass roof panel.

The Targa 4S model, more specifically, is equipped with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine. This engine develops 400 hp at 7400 rpm and 440 Nm of torque available between 5600 rpm and 5000 rpm. Combined with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, the Targa 4S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 299 km/h. In terms of dimensions, the 991 Targa 4S is 4491 mm long, 1852 mm wide and 1296 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2450 mm. The car weighs 1575 kg, a relatively contained weight thanks to the use of light alloys and aluminum in its construction.

In terms of chassis, the Targa 4S benefits from Porsche Traction Management (PTM) technology, which ensures variable torque distribution between the front and rear axles. It is also equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which adjusts the firmness of the shock absorbers according to driving conditions. Aesthetically, the 991 Targa 4S is distinguished by its brushed aluminum roof bar, rollover bar and retractable glass roof, a modern interpretation of the classic Targa design. The interior blends luxury and functionality, with high-quality materials and driver-oriented ergonomics.

In terms of safety, the car is equipped with multiple airbags, ABS, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and other driving assistance systems. The launch of the Type 991 Targa 4S has been hailed as a return to the roots of Targa design, while incorporating contemporary technological advances. It represents a balance between respect for Porsche heritage and the adoption of new technologies, a hallmark of the brand's constant quest for innovation and performance.
